What should I expect on my first visit? 

Your first visit to our office gives you a chance to meet our team - and it gives us a chance to assess your needs and get a clear understanding of what is going on with your oral and, if necessary, your overall health. During this visit we will also take x-rays and possible 3D scans so that we can clearly evaluate your situation. Once we have everything we need, we will discuss an appropriate treatment plan for you. This includes a diagnosis, procedures, and potential sedation options. 

Your first visit is the perfect time to address any issues you may have and voice any concerns you may have. 

What can I do to prepare for my appointment?

First, you will want to complete the new patient forms online before your appointment. However, if you are unable to do so, be sure to arrive 10-15 minutes early to complete them at our office. 

Next, gather up everything you will need for your visit. This includes: 

• Written referral from your dentists
• X-rays (preferably panoramic) if your dentist has them
• Any pertinent records from your dentist
• Your dental insurance card, if applicable
• Driver’s license
• List of current medications

Lastly, do not take any pain medication within 4-6 hours prior to your appointment. 

What types of sedation options do you offer? 

At Costello Oral Surgery, we offer our patients different options for sedation, including local anesthetic, nitrous oxide, and IV sedation. We will discuss these options with you before your oral surgery to determine the best option for your needs and specific treatment.
