About Our Services

Costello Oral Surgery Associates offers a variety of services for patients in Paramus, NJ. Our procedures include:

Dental Implants – From single tooth implants to implant-supported dentures and bridges, our oral surgeons are skilled in tooth replacement that restores both function and aesthetics.

Bone Grafting – Jaw bone grafting is a reconstructive oral surgery that addresses defects in a patient’s jaw resulting from birth defects, trauma, tumor removal or tooth loss.

Tooth Extractions – Perhaps the most common reason to visit an oral surgeon, we typically perform tooth extractions with the use of local anesthesia to minimize downtime and cost.

Wisdom Teeth – In cases of crowding, improper occlusion, and impaction, wisdom teeth should be removed to minimize pain and infection risk.

Jaw Surgery – Corrective jaw surgery, also called orthographic surgery, corrects misalignments and abnormalities in the upper or lower jaw.

Facial Trauma – For severe facial trauma, a hospital visit is usually required, but we can treat minor soft and hard tissue trauma in our Maywood, Franklin Lakes, and Wayne, NJ offices.

Pre-Prosthetic Surgery – We offer hard and soft tissue surgeries that refine the jaw in preparation for dentures and other dental procedures.

Distraction Osteogenesis – During some reconstructive surgeries, distraction osteogenesis is performed in order to promote bone healing and growth. This procedure involves cutting into the bone and then slowly separating it at a controlled rate over the course of several days.

Oral Pathology – Our oral surgeons perform comprehensive neck, head and oral exams in the case of lesions and other abnormal tissues.

TMJ Disorders – Costello Oral Surgery Associates offers TMJ treatments ranging from nonsurgical options like anti-inflammatory medications and Botox injections to surgical treatments like jaw joint replacements.

Sleep Apnea – While CPAP therapy is the most well-known sleep apnea treatment, a good first-line option is Oral Appliance Therapy, which adjusts the position of the jaw and tongue to minimize airway obstruction.

Cleft Lip & Palate – Babies born with cleft lips and palates need a skilled oral surgeon to repair their facial structures. As these patients age, they may need additional surgeries to improve breathing, jaw alignment, and appearance.

Bone Morphogenetic Protein – Rather than removing bone from a patient’s hip for a surgical graft, bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) allows us to stimulate bone growth to combat bone resorption and strengthen the jaw to accommodate dental implants.

Platelet Rich Growth Factor – When applied to the tooth socket after an extraction, Platelet Rich Growth Factors and Fibrin derived from a patient’s own blood act to improve soft tissue healing and bone regeneration.

Impacted Canines – When a canine tooth doesn’t fully pass through the gums, it’s considered impacted. To resolve this, we can extract a baby tooth and use braces to make space for the adult tooth to erupt.

3D Imaging – Our state-of-the-art Carestream Cone Beam Scanner gives us a 360-degree view of your teeth and jaw, while also using less radiation than traditional CT technology.

Cosmetic Services – Oral surgeons know facial anatomy well, so who better to provide cosmetic services like facial fillers, Botox injections, and chin surgeries? Our office also provides microdermabrasion, chemical peels, scar revision, and radiosurgery.

Anesthesia – Before any surgery, we’ll discuss all of our anesthesia options with you to make sure we choose one that’s right for the procedure and that leaves you feeling comfortable.
